I can't say this new book is going to be a long one, but I am hoping for how long it is or isn't, it will be of some help to someone out there. If putting this book out there can help just one person then I will know I did the right thing in writing it.
Most people who write these types of books are doing it not only to help others know they aren't alone, but it is for their own therapy.
My purpose in writing the book I am writing is not for therapy because I have already come to terms with the past and walked away.
However, truth be known the darkness is never completely gone and the scars only fade. I am doing this book to let others know, just because the scars and the darkness are still there and sometimes consume you, it doesn't mean you are still dwelling on them.
Just like a recovering alcoholic or drug addict you have to take things day by day. Something will always trigger memories good or bad. And there will be times when there is no obvious trigger when the darkness comes.
You are not weak because you falter, everyone falters. What makes you weak is letting the darkness stay and not using your strength to fight it off. Never give up, that is your strength. Don't give someone else the power over your strength and will to survive.
I want to tell people how it was survived, not try and figure out why it happened. The why is not the closure, the forgiveness of yourself is the closure. Believing in your own strength and will to survive is what gets you through. Harness that power and strength and don't let go!
