How many of you have come to a point where you need to write but nothing is coming to you?
Writer's Block is one of the biggest obsticles a writer can hit and when it hits, it hits hard.
I know for myself because of the way I write, when I get blocked it is usually because I have over stressed myself and my creativity is muffled, I can't see the images in my mind any longer and everything seems blah.
Sometimes it pass quickly and other times it takes some time. I generally as a rule for myself take a step back, clear my mind of the stresses, and attempt to swim my way back to shore.
I also find the more I attempt to push through without the step back I feel just like the picture I have used in this post - isolated and surrounded by my own fears.
Taking that step back helps me put the fears in perspective - self induced, environmentally induced, or fictionally induced. Once I have figured out what has triggered the fear, I am able to move past it.
What are your methods of dealing with creative blocks? How do you over come or work through them?
